Girly girl

We have a girly girl! There's no question about it. She loves to get into mommy's make up and brush all of our hair. Most recently she asked me to paint her toe nails. She saw me painting mine and came into the room, sat down in front of me, and said "mine!" She sat perfectly still while I painted her little bitty toes (and she doesn't sit still for anything). After she tried to touch them. I told her she has to blow on them so they will dry. She just sat there with me and blew on her toes. See her pink toes above in her girly pink shoes (these shoes squeak when she walks, too cute). Like I said, girly girl.

Spaghetti Monster

Catherine loves to slurp her spaghetti!

Big Girl Chair

So, we bought Catherine a booster seat for the kitchen table (to replace the high chair), and you would have thought we bought her the moon. She loves her "big girl chair." When we purchased it at Target, she instantly knew it was for her and had to carry it in her lap in the shopping cart and in her car seat on the way home. When we walked in the door, she carried her seat into the living room and "explored it." It was the cutest thing. Here's some pictures of her exploring it and eating in it above.

Easter Dress

Here Catherine is modeling her cute little green and white polkadot dress that her Gramps and Laura gave her for Easter Sunday. Thanks to my dad and Laura for the great dress!

Playing in the park

Catherine loves to play outside! Here are some great pictures on her playing in a park when we went to see Joe's parents in DeRidder, LA.

The Zoo

We took Catherine to the zoo one Sunday afternoon with our friends Mark and Ashley. She is still a little too young to truly enjoy the animals, but here are some cute pics of her with her daddy and hugging the little elephant.

Catherine in the snow

We had snow in March in Texas. Crazy I know, but Catherine had fun playing in it. You can see her little footprints on fresh snow above.

Updates

This blog update is for those of you who like to pester me about it (I won't use names, but their initials are L. D. and M. S.). :) I'm just kidding! I've been needing to do this for ages, but it's been a little busy.

For those of you who don't know, about 5 weeks ago I started keeping a three month old baby in my home. Her name is Olivia and she is adorable, but it is busy keeping up with a very busy 19 month old toddle and taking care of a tiny baby as well. At first Catherine was not happy with me about Olivia being here (the little stinker bit me on the leg on Olivia's first day here), but she seems to have adjusted really well now. It seems like all three of us (Catherine, Olivia, and myself) are finally starting to settle into a pretty good routine.

Catherine is so much fun at this age. She is starting to say and repeat more words now. My favorite is "iuvu" (for those who need toddler interpretation, it means I love you). She loves to play with mommy and daddy, is super hyper a lot of the time (we can thank her Aunt Mary for giving her this trait), and can just laugh and laugh over the silliest things. She is also fearless, and will try to accomplish just about anything she sets her mind to. Here's some stories that demonstrate this fact...

About two weeks ago on a Thursday, both babies were actually asleep (hurray!). So I was sitting at the kitchen table going through some bills and looking at my calendar and just enjoying the quiet when I hear the loudest bang from right above me (it literally shook the whole apartment). At first I was trying to figure out what in the world that could be, then I suddenly thought, "Oh my goodness, Catherine just fell out of her bed!". So I start running through the living room and up the stairs (at this point Catherine hadn't started crying , so I'm thinking the worst), and right when I get to the top of the stairs Catherine starts screaming. I open the door to her bedroom and she is sitting on the floor with her two lovies (stuffed animals) that she had gone to bed with lying on the floor next to her and crying. Apparently she had used he bumper as a ladder and climbed out of her crib, somehow taking her lovies wiht her. I'm telling you, once she sets her mind on something, she intends to figure it out. She just didn't anticipate the crash landing that was sure to follow. So, I am holding my precious, screaming baby trying to figure out where she landed and if she was okay. After about two minutes, her nose and forehead starting turing red, so it was obvious that she landed right on her face. My poor baby! Well, she was fine. She was playing again five minutes after the incident. The redness was gone by the next day, and her crib is now on the lowest level possible and no longer has a bumper in it. It looks like a cage, but she would have to be McGuyver to get out of it. I really think this all upset me more than her. The little toot scared me!

Okay, here's one more story. Last week, I was busy with Olivia and Catherine decided to do a no- no....climb up the stairs. When I looked over and saw her climbing up the stairs, and told her to come down, and was making my way to lay Olivia down so I could go get Catherine off the stairs. Well, Catherine stopped on the step she was on when she heard me tell her to come down, but before I could get to her she said "Hey mommy", smiled, and stuck her head through the stair railings, which then got stuck. She panicked when she realized she couldn't get her head out on her own. I had to very carefully pull my babies head out of the stair railing. I'm telling you, she's so fast and not afraid to try anything. I wouldn't trade my adventurous, happy girl for the world, but she's going to give me a heart attack.

So, what is Joe doing while I'm hanging with two beautiful girls? Seminary, of course! He's either working there, going to class there, or studying at the library there. Do we miss him? Definitely! But we are proud of Daddy and all the hard work he puts in for his family. This semester is drawing to a close, and we are so excited about some hubby and daddy time. :)

Sorry I wrote a novel! New pictures will be posted either today or tomorrow, I promise.
